Summary:
Under minimal supervision, operates press brakes (RG’s and to potentially learn the HDS and ATC) to produce quality parts. Requires a working knowledge of various processes and operations to meet production requirements. This job description is not necessarily all-inclusive. Other job duties may be assigned, and/or area(s) of focus may change according to business needs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and comprehend instructions.
- Adheres to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Notify leadership on issues with malfunctioning or defective parts
- Maintain Customers and MASS Quality requirements
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Practicing 6S at all times.
- Operates Amada NC9-EX and LD brake machines, power notcher and roller.
- Coordinates each job with Set-Up person to ensure full understanding on machine safety, quality and productivity.
- Ability to learn to do simple set-ups on proven jobs according to standards.
- Safely check tool set-up when taking over a machine of each individual job.
- Ensure that documents needed on the job are complete and concise, if not notify supervisor.
- Ensure manufacturing drawings have the correct revision level, notes, tolerances and dimensions.
- Monitor cycle times and calculate PPH. Notify supervisor if times are not correct.
- Accurately use EPICOR to Clock In/Out, review Job Tracker, enter Labor Notes, Labor activities and correct counts.
- Inspect first part and QA approval, in-process checks and last part check thoroughly. • Participate in CI meetings
- Capable of operating/running a single process or machine with minimum assistance and providing limited feedback to management.
- Basic understanding of safety and quality best practices of machine or equipment.
- Basic understanding of hand tools or materials: anything that is used as a tool to do the job and materials can cover metals, plastics or purchased items.
- Basic understanding of inspection process or instruments: standard or job specific. Limited to the task, job or operations they’ve performed.
- Basic math.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions.
- Ability to follow written instructions/MPI’s limited to task, job, operations being performed or have performed in the past.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to commit to flexible schedule and prompt arrival for shifts.
- Ability to be cross trained in other departments to help with unexpectedly high demand.
- Flexible to work in other areas when needed.
- Knowledge of all tools and dies used in a job, set-ups, troubleshooting and mechanical components of the NC9-EX and LD machines, alarm codes and control box.
- Able to use calipers, protractors, screw drivers, Allen wrenches and a calculator with trig functions
- Proven ability to fix tapers on flanges and angle problems on parts
- Demonstrate good hand/eye coordination
- Can safety lift 35 pounds and stand for up to 8 hours a day
- Ability to work days/swing/night as required
- Willing to work OT when needed
